Week 1 - explaination of topic 1

TOPIC 1 wk 1
Please familiarise yourself with the range of communication forms on the internet.
Do some online research and share your thoughts with others (IRL or online)
a) What are the characteristics (in terms of the kinds of communication they allow) of the following?:
b) How do you use them if you do; what for; what’s your experience of using them?
Email and email lists
Usenet and Bulletin board systems
IRL’s chat rooms, messenger services
MUDs + MOOs – merging with online gaming
Website

basically i think we all did a pretty good job today of familiarising ourselves with the internet/blogs/IRL...
im begining the reading asap... tonight probs (let me know once u get through it) or bits of it. and of course what you think of it. if theres a certain bit you think could benefit us all etc...
ill be lookin at a and b (above) whilst ready and let you know what i thought too.

  4. Hey guys... I think we're all on the same track!!
    And hannah I think, on here is the only place us for can just talk, and forum is for are seminar group.
    I'm also looking at topic one for this week, and will hopefully have it done by tomorrow afternoon, along with some notes on the reading.

  5. yer i agree with hannah... we blog on our own pages about our readings and the notes we make then comment on each others.

    its kinda like havin a seminar - talkin about the text etc - but no lecture lol!

    im getting through the reading but slowly... anyone else think theres to much?
